Thanks to my Dad, a keen hobbyist photographer, my love for taking photos started at a young age. I was always an ‘artsy’ kid and would favour the creative subjects. This passion carried though my education and I went on to study at University For the Creative Arts, just outside of London, graduating with a degree in Fashion Promotion and Imaging. Shortly after moving to Australia in December 2013 I landed myself a job working in-house for a well known beauty brand. I initially started as a Graphic Designer, however I quickly saw an opportunity to leverage my photography skills and established a new role for myself as Content and Production Manager. I worked in the production of major campaigns with highly regarded fashion photographers, models and hair and makeup artists. During this time social media was booming and brands required a steady flow of cost-effective socially focused content. To meet this demand I established an in-house photography studio and honed in on my passion for product photography. By doing so, I responded to anticipated requirements while significantly reducing the expense that was previously associated with creating this type of branded content.
During that time, my now husband Gav joined me as a freelance photographer at the beauty brand where we collaborated on various projects such as beauty, product, and video shoots. I took on the responsibility of organizing all aspects of the production process and creative direction before and during the shoots. Our experience and excellent teamwork inspired us to establish Candid Billy Creative in July 2019, which was formerly known as Lemon Lime Creative

I was born in Romania and spent most of my childhood there before moving to the UK when I was 12. I’ve always had a passion for creating and building things and after leaving school I became a successful cabinet maker. But the lifestyle there wasn’t for me, and in late 2012 I bought a one-way ticket to Australia.
Being passionate about the ocean, naturally, my photography journey began at the beach. Not long after we met in Jan 2014, Nikki bought me my very first SLR camera after seeing my many attempts to take ‘good’ photos with my GoPro. I was working as a sign-writer at the time but soon began to assist Nikki shooting beauty and product. I soon realised I had a keen eye for composition and lighting and I was lucky enough to broaden my skillset working on a variety of video projects. When Nikki proposed the idea of establishing our own business I immediately seized the chance to turn by hobby into a full-fledged career. Whilst I still collaborate with Nikki on our creative projects, I recently launched Candid Billy Weddings, born out of my genuine passion for capturing the buzz of a wedding.

We work closely with all our clients to understand their individual needs to create effective and impactful content that will cut through the noise.
Our Creative Process
Before we commence any work we schedule a virtual briefing session to discuss everything there is to know about your brand and how best we can assist you.
Pre-Production
After the initial briefing, we work on a pre-production document. This includes a mood board detailing colour, props, lighting, composition, styling, and a shot list including visual references.
Style & Shoot
Once pre-production is signed off by you, we source any additional props needed before commencing the shoot. Each individual image is then thoughtfully styled and lighting is perfected.
Post Production
All final assets then go through a detailed post-production process to enhance and perfect the image even further. Any additional crops and formats will also be done at this stage.
Download Online
All final assets will then be available to download from our online portal within 14 working days from the shoot date. All packages include a 12 month complimentary online back-up.
